EMDR therapy online

Can EMDR therapy be done online?

Yes! EMDR therapy is now available online and is as effective as seeing your therapist face-to-face.

How is EMDR therapy done online?

Depending on your internet connection, there are a few modifications available. Standard Eye Movements can still be used. However, it is more common for EMDR therapists to use other forms of bilateral stimulation, such as tapping ( using a butterfly hug), pulsers, buzzers, and/ or auditory stimulation.

How long does EMDR therapy take?

It is recommended that EMDR sessions be 90 minutes long.  The number of sessions will depend on your history, current challenges and progress with treatment.

EMDR Intensives are becoming increasingly popular. If you are curious to explore EMDR but don’t want to change psychologists, then that could be a great opportunity for you. You can continue seeing your therapist while you attend an EMDR Intensive Program (we currently offer an EMDR Intensive Program for ADHD and an EMDR Intensive Program for clients on WorkCover).
